Who created WindowTabs?

WindowTabs was created by Maurice Flanagan, a software developer based in New York. While working with stock traders, he noticed how many windows they often had open and how much they struggled to organize and manage those windows. WindowTabs was created to make life easier for anyone who works with lot's of applications throughout the day.

Who uses WindowTabs?

Software developers, traders, graphic designers, lawyers, project managers, gamers - generally people who spend lot's of time at the computer working with many open windows or applications at once.

What is the difference between the free and paid versions?

The free version is limited to three windows per tabbed group with no time limit. The paid version removes this restriction, allowing you to group as many windows as you would like.

What versions of Windows are supported?

Windows XP through Windows 8 are supported.

What dependencies does WindowTabs have?

WindowTabs depends on the .NET Framework 2.0 which is installed on most machines. Windows 8 may prompt you to install the .NET Framework 3.5, it is a quick download and will allow you to run WindowTabs without any additional installation steps.

Does WindowTabs access the network?

Yes, it makes network calls to validate your license key, check for updates and send error information in the (rare) event that WindowTabs crashes. We can disable all network activity for corporate customers purchasing site licenses if necessary.

Are there any known compatibility issues with WindowTabs?

WindowTabs works with most desktop applications and we work hard to fix any compatibly issues that are discovered. However, WindowTabs does not work well with other third party virtual desktop software (Dexpot, VirtuaWin etc).

What is the return policy?

We have a 30 day money back gaurentee policy, just contact support and include your license key for a full, no questions asked refund.

What if I lost my license key?

Just email support from the email address you provided when you purchased WindowTabs and we will re-send your license key.

Can I purchase one license and use it on multiple machines?

Yes, you can use it on as many of your machines as you would like, but you must ensure that you are the only one using the license key.

How many updates do I get when I purchase a license?

Your license entitles you to all updates, forever.

Is there a portable (non-installer) based version of WindowTabs?

Yes, there is a stand alone executable that can be run from anywhere (including a usb drive). You can download the latest from the download page.
